Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/ and KAISHA!

It was wonderfull, all of it. Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and a surprise visit from my cousin Kaisha.

Christmas Eve: On Christmas Eve, Emily and I got to dance at the nursing home; Mother Josephs. We get to give them a dance performance and then we get to give the ones that came to watch a rose and talk to them for a little bit. That is my favorite part, they get so excited when someone wants to talk to them. When I first started dancing, this really freaked me out and I hated it, now it is something I look forward to!
From there, we all went over to Westport to visit my Grandma, Uncle Todd and Uncle Scott. When we arrived we recieved some exciting news! My Uncle Todd was going to get married to his girl friend Coral! So welcome to the family Coral! We ate and ate and ate and ate.... did I mention that we ate ALOT? It was a fun filled evening with lots of laughter and food!

Arent we just adorable?

Wits and Wagers, a new fun trivia game that was played many times that day!

This is my new favorite picture, we were talking about how to make a monkey face, and then my mom said that we should teach our Grandma. And Grandma Jill MASTERED the monkey face. Way to go Grandma!
Uncle Todd and Coral.

Then, CHRISTMAS DAY! Christmas is one of the best days EVER. No questioning it. I mean, come on... waking up in your new pajamas that you recieved the night before, bursting with excitment and playing games in your room with you sibbling while waiting for your parents to come up and tell you that you can go down stairs, opening gifts, and celebrating the birth of your savior... ya, just doesnt get any better then that!

Ready to go in our new pajamas!

Really long story behind this one, and if I explain it, I think my mom will kill me, so all I am going to say is "SPEAR-MINT"

YIPPEE! An iPod Touch! THANKS Mom and Dad!

A yummy pastry for Christmas morning!

For the rest of the day we played around with our new things and just took it easy. Then, around 5 o'clock, we had an open house for friends and we had lots of desserts! So much fun, not many pictures of the people or food, but all I have to say is that it was so fun to see your friends at the end of a fun-filled day and just hang out and laugh.

Before I begin telling you of the biggest surprise of all that happened on Christmas day, let me give you some background on how it all happened.

We have some amazing cousins, the Thomas cousins. We rarley get to see our cousins, but when we do.... WHAT A TREAT! They live all the way up in Bellingham... bummer. And on Christmas day, I was texting Kaisha and joking about how she should come all the way down and join us for our open house thingy. And then, after much talking-through-texting Kaisha got the thumbs up from her parents and let her come down and stay the night! We were all so excited to see her! She made the long drive up to come and hang out with us! It was the best thing anyone could have done, we hung out, watched movies, stayed up till 2:30 am talking about nothing important, intorduced her to our friends, took her to Olive Garden, and took silly webcam photos. Thanks so much Kaisha for coming up! WE LOVE YOU!

You might not find these pictures very funny, but thats okay, I find them hilarious!

LOVE YOU KAISHA!

This may be blurry, but look at Kaisha's neck! It is so long and skinny!

ya, are dorks!

Oh, webcam....

Yes, we are just THAT AWESOME!

So these past 3 days have been ones that I will remember for a very long time.

My Brother

This is my 7 year old brother in the car on our way back from dinner at Costco last night..."Amanda, you have issues!"

My mom asked, "What kind of issues does she have?"

Thomas, "Like she gets all crazy sometimes."

And while I am on the topic of Thomas quotes....

A few years ago Emily, Thomas, and I were brushing our teeth and Thomas said I was like Mexican food. I asked him why and he said cause all I do is Taco Taco Taco!

I LOVE YOU THOMAS!.... even if you think I have issues.

A picture of Thomas and I that will ALWAYS make me smile!

Baking on Break

One of my all time favorite things to do is bake. Doesn't matter what time of year, just baking in general is my favorite thing to do when I have got nothing else going on. So, I had nothing to do today, so I wrapped my presents for my family, and BAKED! I made kaleidoscope cookies, and these candy-cane cookies. I will show you pictures of the kaleidoscope cookies tomorrow, cause they have to chill over night, But these little candy-cane cookies were HARD TO MAKE! They took forever to form, and did not turn out the way that I was hopping, but, they taste amazing, and that is all that really matters to me.

The dough was so buttery that it would never really become firm enough to form the dough. But Emily and I worked and worked on these little guys, and they taste amazing...

Just thinking...

When I always read other peoples blogs, I thought that it was a really dumb thing to not have pictures in the post, and I promised my self if I had a blog it would not ever hold a post that didn't have a picture. Well, today I am breaking that promise. This may be a very boring blog post for you to read, but it is what is on my mind...

In my English class, we are doing some research projects on genocides that are, or have been happenening in the world. ( Ya, NOT fun!) The subject is very depressing and at first I was not interested in ANY of it. However, after a few weeks of reading these amazing stories it has got me thinking. I have been thinking about how blessed I am, how privledged I am, and how easily I take what I have for granted. I had thought about how thankful I was before, but not to this extent. God has blessed me with a long list of things that MANY other people in the world will never get to have. I mean, there are the huge things, like a family, a house, food, an education, but their are also little things like laughter, friends, and seeing a smile on someones face almost everyday. When I read these stories ( I wont go into detail cause they are way too sad) I realize that this one child had grown up his whole life without laughing. He said so himself. This just sturck me. WOW! How do you grow up NOT laughing, I laugh all the time! ( Wow, I am REALLY REALLY babbling). When I think about all the things God has given me, it makes me wonder why he gives these things to me and not to those other people. What does he want me to do with these special privledges? Cause I could be in the same horrific situations as some of those other people around the world... but God chose to not put me there. Why?

Again, sorry for the borring to read blog post today. If you read it all the way through... you are one of my favorite people at the moment.

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween was filled with memories I will have for a very long time. To start off, we had our friends the Carlsons come over. And this alone makes a day super special and fun.

After the Carlsons have arrived the 6 kids decided to play a game called " Bigger or Better". The object of the game is to go from house to house asking if people have something that is bigger or better than the object that you have. So we started out with a pen. We went from house to house looking for something bigger or better. After 40 min. we came home with......

Yes! A bike! Can you believe it?! We were so proud of our selves!

Then Brenna, Emily, Thomas, and Beth all went trick or treating. Alex and I decided to stay back and hand out candy.

After they all returned their mounds of candy, Alex and I realized what we had missed out on. So we made up costumes in 30 seconds and were on our way to go get candy. So I was Minnie Mouse and Alex was..... I dont even know. He just wore Emily's Irish Dance wig and a cookie monster shirt, but it didnt matter, we got alot of candy!

Thanks for coming over and making this a great halloween Carlsons!

Oh Pumpkin!

One of my absolute favorite parts of Fall/Halloween, is when we get to carve our pumpkins. What is not to love about carving a pumpkin? The smell of your freshly cut pumpkin, creating a face, running your hands through the pumpkin goo. Ahhh... it is all just wonderful. So, here is a picture of me and my beloved friend.

Free Photo Booth

This makes me laugh!

Banana Split Night

Every Wedness day night is something I look forward to. It is the night that I get to spend time with a bunch of friends and 3 year olds at our church. Anyway, everynight there is something special going on at Cubbies, but this night was really special. It is banana spilt night! Personally, I just think that this night out does all other nights that AWANA does. Anway, they fill the gym with a long gutter and then fill the gutter with a bunch of banana splits! FUN! The picture bellow is one that just makes me laugh, and becuase this blog is titled " Don't Forget To Laugh" I feel the need to put it up.

Yummy Yummy!
This picture is of me and my friend Jaedyn doing puppets! I was Luvy lamb and she was Cubbie bear! Together, we are an amazing puppet group!

The day of rest?

This Sunday was not a day of rest for us... it was a day to party! Last week, my amazing sister, Emily, turned 13. So this Sunday was her birthday party. She invited 6 amazing girls to the Schitler Farm to do a corn maze. One of the pros to having a sister that is your best friend, is that you get to come to the party and participate in everything like you are just one of the guests! So i get to have just as much fun as everybody else! Here are some pictures of the fun filled day...

Although we might have not recieved alot of rest this day, Lewis did... and on his new bed made by Brenna! Brenna was so sweet and made a bed for our new kitten. This is just how Brenna is though, always thinking of sweet things she can do for other people. So Brenna... Lewis says thanks for the new bed! He loves it!

Here I Go!

Well, here I go! I am actually starting a blog. I am always asking my mom to up date her blog, and so she suggested that I just start my own. Thinking this wasn't such a bad idea, I began thinking of blog names. Although I would like to claim that I thought of this blog title, I couldn't... cause it was my brilliant, creative dad who did. He sat in our office with me for 20 min. brainstorming ideas. I finally choose this name, Don' forget 2 laugh. I think that this little phrase is me in a nut shell. So, wish me luck on my new "blogging adventures"!
