One small step for man, one big step for Lewis

Lately, our sweet, timid, cute, loving kitty cat Lewis has been being brushed... OUTISIDE! Incase you didnt know, Lewis has been an indoor cat from the day we got him. And we are finally letting him be brushed outiside. Lewis is such a scardy cat that he doesnt go far. He just sits in the grass purring. I went outside to bursh him and he just sat in my lap with his eyes closed while purring like crazy. Oh how I wish I was a cat...

Watching Mr. Lewis walk around on the grass is a sight to see. He is not sure if he likes the grass or not. He tries to put as little pressure possible on his paws. So when he walks, he just basically just putting a paw down and then quickly popping it up and jumping around the grass.  So funny.

This was when he saw a bug. Oh my. His eyes got huge and started shaking his butt around ready to pounce. Then, I grabbed him and took him somewhere else. Cause when there is a fly in the house, Lewis will not stop until that thing is dead. He goes around making that weird cat sound when they see a bug.

He is now sitting here on my lap purring with his eyes closed and as happy as can be. Gotta love a good kitty cat!

Old Friends

Today I got to get together with our old friends, Miles and Cierra. We met Miles and Cierra when I was 3 years old. Emily was 2, Miles was 3, and Cierra was 4. They had just moved into the neighborhood and they lived 2 houses down. Our moms became friends, and then us 4, we all just clicked. We were together all the time. And I do mean, ALL THE TIME! We would do all sorts of stupid stuff. We always played house. Cierra was the mom, I was the responsible daughter who could drive, Emily was the baby, and Miles was the pet monkey. Countless hours spent in the little plastic log cabin in our back yard. Then when we were older we started playing out in the woods and building forts and playing Play Station. They had the first version of a Play Station... it was pretty cool to know people with such high technology in their own house. We also built this thing we called "The Death Box" It was a card board box that we put a scate board underneath and pushed it down hills. We had tons of padding in it and would wear knee pads and helmets. We only crashed once, and that was into a tree. Miles still has scars from that occasion. But, ever sense we have moved, we dont see them. It has been 2 WHOLE YEARS sense we last saw them. But Cierra txted my mom saying, "Hey can Miles and I come over tomorrow?" uh... YES PLEASE! So, we got to hang out with Cierra and Miles for a good portion of the day. Cierra can drive so we went to Jamba Juice and Tolmie State park. I think I spent the whole time laughing. Miles can make me laugh like no one else. It was so awesome seeing them again and hope to do it again soon!

We all had Papa Murphy Pizza and got all caught up. They are the kind of friends where although we havent seen each other for 2 years, we all picked up right where we left off!

For some reason I really like this picture. We are all  laughing, I am pretty sure we are laughing at Miles.
Look at Miles's face

Look at Emily's face. They wouldnt just take a normal picture. They were trying to see who could stand taller :)

Jumping for Joy!!!!!

Yupp, he is one of the silliest people I know.

Really long story behind this one... all I have to say is, Miles is milking a cow.

They are some of my favorite people :)

Thanks for the awesome day Miles and Cierra!

AWANA CAMP 2010

Well... I had an amazing week at AWANA camp. Seriously, amazing. God taught me so much and I was stretched beyond belief. The AWANA program offers a camp for people entering 6th grade to people graduating. I have attended this camp for the past 4 years and it changes me and brings me closer to God every single time.  Our speaker, Ken Wakefield, spoke about renewing your relationship with Christ. It was just what I needed. It was... renewing... imagine that. And God tested me so much.  We had a ministry day where we go into a park and do puppet shows, face paint, gospel braclets, skits, and songs with the kids. For one, I am not exactly supper comfortable coming up to someone and saying, "Hey, do you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior?" It takes guts. But, not only did God stretch me in that way, but I was also put as a leader in my teams captain. I had to organize a lot and make ends meet. I couldnt have done it on my own strength, it was all God working through me. He showed me that I can not do anything on my own strength. Everything I do is through Him. Which, is a pretty big lesson to learn.

This is my friend Bronte. Bronte and I met 4 summers ago, and she makes camp so much fun! She is one of the funniest people you will EVER met. She is so bubbly and uplifting. I love this girl so much and look forward to seeing her every year.

And this is my friend Kathryn... we were really tired.

One night at camp you have a shaving cream fight. It is something I look forward to so much. You first play shaving cream baseball. Which is baseball but you use a wiffle ball and fill it with shaving cream. So when you hit it, shaving cream falls EVERYWHERE! Oh, you also use a tennis racket to hit the ball so it really goes soaring. Then, after that, give everyone a can of shaving cream and you are free to go cover who ever you want with shaving cream. SO MUCH FUN! I was covered. This was taken after trying to scrape a ton of it off. They give you about 15 minutes to be ready for Chapel after this game. So, you dont have time to take a shower. Throw your head under a sink, change clothes, grab you bible, and run. The whole building smells like shaving cream for another few hours, but it is so worth it. And personally, I think shaving cream smells good :)

And my amazing cabin:

These girls were amazing. My counselor was totally awesome. 2 of the girls had to leave half way through the week to go on a missions trip. so then we were just left with 6 girls, but we still had a total blast getting to know each other.

Cant wait for next year at AWANA Camp :)
